Medhika’s Review of Parco del Valentino:
“One of the most popular public areas in all of Turin, frequented by locals and tourists alike, Parco del Valentino was opened in 1856 and is Italy’s first public garden.
An oasis of green situated on the banks of river Po, the park is an ideal place to chill and unwind after a long day of work. Open 24 hours, with no entry fee, one can find joggers, walkers, cyclists, roller-skaters burning the calories in the most picturesque setting at any given time during the day.
After sunset, especially on the weekends, the park doubles up as a party place with students picnicking on the banks, beer bottles and music systems in tow.
Castello del Valentino, one of the royal residences of the Savoy Family and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located in this park. The park also boasts of some small eateries selling hot and cold beverages and some finger food at reasonable rates.“
