The Uncube CoWorking Experience at After Stories, Gurgaon

Finding the right “coworking space is tough – but The Uncube CoWorking at After Stories is a popular offering by the aggregator.

With taxes the experience comes around to Rs. 525/-, and with promotional discount, this is a highly rewarding offer in terms of value for money! The Uncube CoWorking at After Stories in Gurgaon’s Sector 29 is one of the highly popular offerings by the aggregator, and priced at Rs. 499/- per seat. My timings were from 12:00 noon to 5 pm and provided WiFi access as well.

Add to it the fact that the customer gets 1 welcome soft drink and a dish from the curated Menu, included in the price. Additional 10% off on the a la carte menu helps too.

Zeroing in on After Stories in Sector 29

The UnCube Coworking has several options in Delhi NCR. A lot of popular restaurants or pubs which remain relatively quiet in the afternoons can be accessed for work or for meetings. I chose After Stories in Gurgaon as i had site visits in the area. The restaurant itself is conveniently located, right behind IFFCO Chowk Metro Station. Spread over 3 levels, i could even watch a rehearsal for a band performance on a Saturday evening.

The ambience and the exterior look of After Stories is quite classy, and the interiors have a very contemporary vibe. The food itself was well-served and the staff was quite helpful and hospitable. The curated menu for the UnCube program had 6 items – 3 veg and 3 non-veg each. Sometimes the music through the speakers was loud, but that could be sorted out by telling the team. The Manager gave proper attention since this was my first coworking experience through UnCube and first visit at After Stories.

If you are coming by car, be rest assured, there’s plenty of parking space! The location is much more organized compared to the somewhat-chaos at Sector 29 Main Market.

Advantages of Using UnCube for Bookings

Ideal for those looking for flexible seat booking options, The UnCube Coworking has taken it upon themselves to help employees and freelancers… “un cube” from box like cubicles or desks which are the norm in regular offices!

I’ve worked out of several Co-working spaces in Delhi-NCR, and UnCube Cowroking at restaurants suits my requirements because i need to travel throughout the city. In case you were wondering, they are also present in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai. And particularly useful if you are:

  • in a marketing profile or business development,
  • need to set up meetings with clients at their location of choice,
  • booking conference rooms on hourly basis
  • frequently go for site visits and to client sites
  • get bored of working in the same space and like variety nonetheless!
  • your job allows to carry your laptop along 🙂
  • and importantly, not keen on spending too much on setting up a permanent workspace

Variety is the Key at “UnCube”

Compared to other Co-working providers like WeWork or Inno8 (of course they have their advantages if you wish to work from a fixed location), TheUncube connects you to an astounding variety of restaurants and hotels across the city. From Uncultured Cafe to Culture Cafe, and from Kapashera to DLF Phase 4, and from Sarovar Muse to Crowne Plaza:

  • New Delhi Kailash Colony (Uncultured Cafe, Cafe 27), Naraina Vihar, Rajouri Garden (Band Baaja Baaraat) KapasHera (The Muse Sarovar), Saket (Fio Country Kitchen) among other locations in South Delhi (Green Park, Nehru Place, Shahpur Jat, Khelgaon Marg)
  • Gurgaon – After Stories, Pier 38, Cafe Tonino, Culture Cafe, Walking Street, Crowne Plaza (Sector 29), Park Inn, New York Slice & more
  • Noida & Greater Noida – Radisson Noida, Crowne Plaza (Surajour Chowk)

Now you can even book Spring House Co-Working in Lado Sarai and in Noida Sector 18 through The Uncube Coworking platform. Spring House is one of my old “office space providers” and if you happen to work out of their Galleria centre, do try chilli Maggi made by the cooking staff. Very home like yet professional!

If you take my honest opinion (which of course is a given!), i had a hard time deciding between options – which is a nice problem to have. But i liked the overall combination of offerings at After Stories, so went with it. Price and Location are certainly the deciding factors. Since i’ve been a long time reviewer on Zomato, and have visited my fair share of countries, cities and a ton of restaurants+offices, i can vouch for the fact that The Uncube has chosen a great assortment of partner places. The Muse Sarovar even has a lunch buffet – major brownie points to that!

Facilities offered through The UnCube Coworking

Apart from the “dedicated seats”, you can also book conference rooms. All you need to do is select the city, choose the location or space, enter the dates and select option between seat or conference room, and you’re done!

User Friendly Interface of The Uncube

The beauty of The Uncube interface is the simplicity offered. The booking process itself was hassle free. Make sure you click the date again beside the calendar to confirm the booking.

One has to keep in mind that the online payment has to be made while booking. There is no option for paying at the venue, since these bookings need to be confirmed in advance due to limited seats.

A Happy Experience?

Yes, and yes!

So i have worked out of several Coworking spaces in Delhi NCR and have even visited many for workshops and seminars. However, The UnCube as a platform brings you several features which you wouldn’t normally find with a regular membership. It’s great value for money and highly economical.

Specifically, the Uncube is a beneficial trade-off if you work from an office location less than 11 times a month. Otherwise you can buy a monthly plan at other coworking offices. However, rarely any of them would provide you food and drinks worth Rs. 350/- included in the price! Some of the partner restaurants even give free printouts up to 5 copies.

Would i book with The UnCube CoWorking again?

I would, given i’m a big time foodie who enjoys a good meal during lunch. And of course because my job involves plenty of intra-city travel, i book a dedicated seat at whichever location i’ll be going next.

One of my next bookings is in East of Kailash in Delhi. Probably i’ll be a customer on a frequent rotation program working from all over NCR. But hey, don’t really have a reason to complain because i can easily UnCube 🙂

Usually i like innovative ideas, and The UnCube Coworking undoubtedly is one – they have given a new meaning to utilizing space in restaurants during non-peak hours, matching the interest of the new-age workers, entrepreneurs, and employees who enjoy a cool work culture.

What more? And what after…

Since feedback is an important (and integral) part of any service-based experience, it will be nice to have a rating feature for the participating restaurants.

For now, i’m just delighted using this novel way of finding a workseat as it has really freed up my schedule with all the popular restaurants, hotels and cafes i can book for very reasonable prices.
