Review of Baland Village:
“Baland is close to ‘nahar’ or irrigation canal. Hence, good supply of water throughout the year. The ‘Baba Johad’ jheel or percolation pond allows for some water to collect and is helpful for fisheries.
We grow even organic foods – vegetables, few food crops. Organic farming is a bit expensive but also fetches higher margins.
Farmers are even learning about organic methods by watching Youtube videos. We don’t have any subsidy or support from the government as such. but mainly self desire to implement farming.
Among crops we grow bajra, cotton, wheat, and a few varieties of rice.
