Rs. 18,907 Crores for Rural Roads

The Central government plans to build 26,474 kilometers of rural roads by 2026-27. A budget of Rs 18,907 crore is allocated for this under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. The focus is on connecting left-out areas and ensuring all-weather roads. Quality and maintenance are key priorities. States are directed to expedite pending projects, especially in tribal habitations. India plans to construct 26,474 kilometers of rural roads this financial year. This target marks a significant 69% increase in road building. States are urged to speed up the completion of unconnected habitations. The government is investing ₹19,000 crore in the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Focus remains on quality and long-term sustainability of these vital rural road networks.

India is world’s largest ship recycling nation

India has surged to become the world’s leading ship recycler, surpassing its Maritime India Vision 2030 target. Ship recycling volume jumped significantly in 2025, boosting India’s global share to over 35%. This achievement solidifies the nation’s role as a key player in responsible and sustainable ship dismantling, with ambitious plans to further expand capacity at the Alang Ship Recycling Yard to meet growing global demand. Three cargo ships are now transiting the Strait of Hormuz, signaling a significant shift after the US ended its blockade of Iranian ports and Tehran eased maritime restrictions. This development follows a peace deal, paving the way for India to resume economic ties, including energy trade and the crucial International North South Transport Corridor.

Bio-energy a key pillar of growth strategy

India’s really getting into bio-energy as a key player in its green growth and energy shift. The Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) is gathering top minds to give the sector a real push. Bio-energy is a big deal for cutting down on fossil fuels, tackling waste issues, and creating jobs, especially in rural areas. From bio-CNG and ethanol blending to biomass power generation, this sector can significantly strengthen India’s clean energy mix, create rural employment and empower farmers

Bihar gets Rs. 10,000 Crores for Rail infrastructure

Bihar’s rail network is set for a major upgrade. The Union Railway Minister announced a record Rs 10,000 crore allocation for infrastructure development. A new express train will connect Chapra with Delhi. Locomotives manufactured in Bihar are now being exported. Projects worth Rs 1.15 lakh crore are underway. Patna Junction will get five new platforms. Bihar has received 11 Amrit Bharat trains and 14 Vande Bharat trains in recent years. Bullet train connectivity from Delhi to Lucknow, Lucknow to Varanasi, Varanasi to Patna and Patna to Siliguri will begin in the coming years. The journey time from Delhi to Patna will be reduced to just 4 hours and 41 minutes once the bullet train becomes operational.

Rs. 90,000 Crore investment across airports

Adani Group plans a massive Rs 90,000-1 lakh crore investment in its airports over five years. The group will aggressively bid for 11 new airports as the government opens private bidding. This expansion aims to significantly boost India’s aviation economy. The launch of commercial flights from Mundra airport, connecting to Mumbai and Goa, marks a key step in transforming the region into a logistics hub.
