Realty, Construction to Generate 15 million Jobs by 2022: Economic Survey

Real estate and construction together is the second largest employment provider in the country, next only to agriculture. The real estate and construction sector will create over 15 million jobs over the next five years despite signs of stress in the segment in the last few quarters. As per the National Skill Development Council (NSDC), real estate and construction sector is expected to require over 66 million people by 2022.

Nari-Shakti Establishing Milestones in many Sectors

In his first Mann Ki Baat radio show in 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about the women achievers who have contributed immensely to the positive transformation of the country. Modi says India’s Nari Shakti has contributed a lot in the positive transformation being witnessed in our country and society.

Possible for India to be on Top 50 in Ease of Doing Business Index

Citing success achieved by India in Ease of Doing Business ranking, Finance Minister Jaitley said the country has moved ahead from 142 to 100th position in the last three years and the last 30 being in one year. He added that out of the 10 criteria which the World Bank follows there are actually three that need to be improved — (1) one relating to municipal permission of land and buildings, the other is (2) trading across borders and (3) third one is contract enforcement.

India should be Pro-Active : ASEAN

All leaders at the just concluded ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit had urged India to play a proactive role in the Asia-Pacific region, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday. “All the leaders have appreciated India’s role and the bilateral relationship that we enjoy with each one of them and that India has such a positive role in the Indo-Pacific region. They feel that India is a very important component of peace, stability and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region.”

The Indian and ASEAN leaders agreed “to establish a mechanism for greater cooperation in the maritime domain sector”, Preeti Saran, secretary in the Indian foreign ministry, told reporters. In the talks Modi also pitched for an ASEAN-India women’s navy team which could sail around the world, just as an Indian team is doing currently, Saran said. PM Modi had invited the leaders of all 10 ASEAN nations to join him for India’s Republic Day celebrations on Friday in the biggest ever gathering of foreign leaders at the parade, which showcases the country’s military might and cultural diversity.

Government to Enhance J & K’s Education Sector to Promote Brotherhood

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar addressed the closing ceremony of the Jammu & Kashmir Student Exchange Program, known as ‘Maitreyi Yatra’. He said that the HRD ministry has made an “effective plan” to boost the education sector in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. On January 18, almost 500 class 9-12 students from JK visited Delhi, under ‘Maitreyi Yatra’ programme, and stayed for 10 days.

Supreme Court directs State Govt. to Implement Law on Disability Rights in 3 Months

The court’s order came on a plea filed by the Justice Sunanda Bhandare Foundation seeking direction to the Central government and all states to implement the 2016 Act. A division bench of Justice Arun Mishra and Justice S Abdul Nazeer asked states and UTs to file reports regarding compliance of provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016.

India needs $ 4.5 trillion by 2040 to develop Infra: Eco Survey

The Global Infrastructure Outlook reflects that rising income levels and economic prosperity is likely to further drive demand for infrastructure investment in India over the next 25 years. Around USD 4.5 trillion worth of investments are required by India till 2040 to develop infrastructure to improve economic growth and community well being,” the Survey tabled by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in Parliament today said.
