Recommendations:

  • Places to Stay – Generally, there are no hotels available to stay at Yupia. Everyone returns back to Naharlagun to spend the night in hotel. But parents of the students who come to meet their children at NIT Arunachal Pradesh stay in the University Guest House.

How to Reach:

“You can reach Guwahati by flight or train. From Guwahati, you can take intercity train for Naharlagun. Yupia is just a little far from Naharlagun railway station. From there you can take a cab, but generally it is overpriced. There is also a weekly train from New Delhi to Naharlagun. If you are coming by Bus, you can take Bus from Guwahati (ISBT) to Naharlagun. From Naharlagun you can book a taxi or wait for the daily Bus service which starts at morning 8 am from Naharlagun Bus Stop.”

Review of Yupia by a Resident:

“Yupia is the headquarters of Papum Pare district in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. Yupia is 18 kilometers from Itanagar and 11 kilometers from Naharlagun, which is the twin capital town and houses the temporary campus for the National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh.

Nothing much is there to see or do. It has ITBP building, other office buildings and NIT campus. Not so populated and crowded. Mostly students will be seen here who study at the NIT.”
