B2G and G2G Events
After having been to events related to startups, business institutions and conclaves, i am now looking forward to upcoming B2G and G2G events! As often as i have heard, the government has ‘no business being in business’, but a lot of startups and business want to help the government make running the country easier.
As the names suggest, Business-to-Government (B2G) and Government-to-Government (G2G) events allow dialogues between businesses and government agencies. B2B mega events like Tech Sparks are known among all, while there are niche events which bring together companies, startups and investors from specific fields – FinTech, Healthcare, Blockchain, IoT, e-mobility, renewable energy, Smart Cities and more.
G2G and B2G events too are becoming widely popular now!
Among such events which i attended in the past, World Sustainable Development Summit 2016 and Patna Smart City Conclave and Israel-India Conclave 2018 stood out. Last year, World Food India was organized with more than 2,000 participants, including officials from various state governments and ministries.
If you have missed participating in G2G or B2G events in the past, we still have more this year and the next. I discuss two of them i got information about – one international, and the other state-level.
DST-CII India-Italy Technology Summit 2018
Where? New Delhi
When? October 29-30th, 2018
Registration Fees? Yes and No
Department of Science and Technology and the Confederation of Indian Industry have been partnering for events since 2004. This is the 24th edition of the technology summit.
I am indeed lucky to have a special invite to the event, because i haven’t attended an international technology summit yet. When i completed my profile for the B2B meetings, i could see 300+ other members on the portal. The participants are mainly from fields like Aerospace, Cleantech, Cultural Heritage, ICT, Renewable Energy, Education and Healthcare. Barring the 1st and the last 2, all the fields belong to areas of my interest. Recently Rome hosted the Maker Faire 2018.
Bilateral trade between India and Italy stood at a value of ~EUR 7 billion in 2013. One can register through CII Website or through the Townscipt Link.
Invest Madhya Pradesh – Global Investors Summit 2019
We are mostly familiar with Vibrant Gujarat. Now it’s MP’s turn.
When? 23-24 February, 2019
Registration Fees? No
The website suggests participants from spheres like policy making, global trade, policy making, global leadership and state governance, international institutions, think tanks, entrepreneurship, and youth-related subjects.
Though the event SMS i received highlighted the B2G and G2G aspect, the website does have a customary “B2B Login” as well!
Among the areas of focus are tourism, agri-business, automobiles, IT/ITES, urban development, warehousing and textiles. With over 800 registrations already, the event also provides a platform for B2G networking.
If you happen to know about more such events, please share the details or links in the comments!
