Review of Sera Ghara Village:
“Scenic village. Each cluster has 50-60 homes. We grow everything except toor dal. However, farming is only sufficient for our own requirements as soil has turned infertile. My 4 brothers who live in the village do farming. All sabzis are grown along with legumes – Masoor, lobia, kaala chana, soya bean, rajma, urad. We reuse gobar for fertilizer. No chemicals. My family had 25 bakris. Sold for high price for ‘balee’.“
“Weather is pleasant throughout the year with sunny winters.”
“Hospitals are good and cheap. Schools are plenty. Govt gave subsidies for toilets. Saryu river flows closeby. Water is clean. Cold in summer and warm in winter. Snowfall takes place but doesn’t stay.
Some trouble in rainy season due to landslides.
Govt has given 5 lacs grant for rebuilding houses.
Stone can be used twice. 2.5 feet deep walls. Bonded with mud plaster. 2 storey height. Ceiling with concrete“
