- According to Hindu mythology, the village gets its name from being the place of birth of “Baldeo” (Balram), Lord Krishna’s elder brother. Based on this, the village also houses the famous temple of Baldeo Ji or Dauji (meaning elder brother)
- Dauji Maharaj Temple is popular among devotees who come here to worship Lord Balaram and Revati, whose idols have been carved out of stone. It is believed to have been built around 1580 AD. The day of its establishment is celebrated every year in the month of December at the time of Margshish Poornima
- Dauji Maharaj Temple is famously known for its Holi celebrations known by the name of “Dauji ka Huranga” where devotees from all parts of the world come to play colours with Lord Dauji (Balram). It is basically celebrated on the 2nd day of the dark fortnight in the month of Chaitra (March-April)
- Ksheersagar or Balabhadra Kund is an eighty-yard square temple tank built up of bricks. It is adjacent to the Dauji Maharaj Temple, in Baldeo village. According to a belief, the main idol worshipped in the temple was found in this tank
