Suzlon wind energy projects in Andhra Pradesh

Suzlon Group is set to launch an impressive 1,325 MW of wind energy projects in Andhra Pradesh, backed by a ₹10,000 crore investment. This venture promises to create about 4,000 direct and indirect jobs. With a vision to integrate an additional 5 GW of renewable energy projects by 2030, Suzlon is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable energy, having already invested ₹12,000 crore in the region since 2004.

India’s EV charger network crosses 67,600

India has installed over 67,000 electric vehicle chargers nationwide. The FAME India Phase-II scheme supported 16.72 lakh electric vehicle sales. Over 5,000 electric buses have been deployed under the FAME-II scheme. Other government initiatives have also boosted electric vehicle sales significantly. Reduced GST and green license plates further encourage electric vehicle adoption.

Rs. 705 Crores frontier highway project in Arunachal

Ceigall India secured a contract valued at Rs 704.70 crore for highway construction. This project involves building a key section of the Lada-Sarli highway in Arunachal Pradesh. The company will execute this work jointly with Sushee Infra & Mining Ltd. Construction is expected to take 48 months, followed by maintenance. This development supports critical road connectivity in the region.

Railways to cut oil imports and CO2 emissions

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved four major railway projects aimed at improving freight movement and passenger connectivity across several states. The projects will add around 410 kilometres to the Indian Railways network and are expected to support an additional 76 million tonnes of freight traffic annually. The expansion is being carried out under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, with a focus on improving connectivity and logistics efficiency.

Rs. 428 Crores worth of projects at Paradip Port, Orissa

At Paradip Port, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated seven significant infrastructure projects valued at Rs 427.80 crore. He also facilitated the execution of three mechanisation initiatives worth Rs 1,580.36 crore, intended to boost the port’s cargo handling capabilities. In addition, the port marked the planting of its one-millionth tree, reinforcing its environmental sustainability commitment and establishing Paradip as a crucial maritime gateway in eastern India.

Imphal-Guwahati bus service in Manipur resumes

Public transport services between Imphal and Guwahati resumed smoothly on Saturday. Services were suspended following the outbreak of ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo tribal communities in Manipur on May 3, 2023. Over two hundred passengers departed from ISBT at Khuman Lampak, Imphal in a fleet of buses and vehicles. This resumption follows a three-year suspension due to ethnic unrest in Manipur. Interstate passenger bus services had been suspended since May 3, 2023. The restoration of this crucial inter-state link is widely appreciated by the public.

Starlink for ‘least served’ rural India

Elon Musk’s Starlink plans to bring satellite internet to India’s least served regions. This service aims to connect rural areas where traditional broadband infrastructure is limited. Starlink’s entry will expand internet access beyond major Indian cities and markets. The company is actively seeking to launch its satellite broadband services in India. India’s government is developing regulations for satellite spectrum allocation and services. Musk reshared a post on ‘DogeDesigner’ which highlighted India’s rural demography and internet connectivity statistics, and said, “The government itself says the remaining mobile gaps are caused by difficult terrain, low commercial viability and infrastructure constraints. This is exactly where Starlink can help by reaching remote villages, mountains, islands and disaster-hit areas.
