The village community is one that is very keen on improving the quality of life of its residents and has embraced community-driven initiatives such as Baal-sabha (for tutoring young children), Skill training of differently abled persons, Public Village Library, Digitized Public Distribution Susyem etc.
The Aruvikkara village community sustains itself through a system of Neighbourhood Self-help groups (NHGs).
